Ce 45t était prévu depuis longtemps, le voilà
donc. Ce qui est marrant avec les Veros, c'est qu'ils ont un set
constitué principalement de reprises de classiques oi!,
mais en fait les deux compos présentes sur ce disque ne
sonnent pas vraiment oi! On a des titres travaillés, en
particulier pour la guitare et la voix (pas étonnant vu
l'expérience, vous savez forcément que le chanteur/guitariste
était le batteur de Snix, mais bon vu que je suis là
pour ça, il faut bien que je le dise quand même)
et un son assez rock, qui ne me déplait pas, au contraire.
Ca fait un peu juste pour juger sur deux titres, d'autant plus
que les deux titres se ressemblent pas mal mais pour moi ça
le fait. |

veros-'the way i feel' 7" (guilty rec.) aus
frankreich kommen ja immer wieder hervorragende bands. so auch
the veros. auf ihrer debut 7" präsentieren sie uns zwei
songs, die eindeutig für das talent der band sprechen. der
sänger und gitarriero boni, welcher früher bei snix
gespielt hat verleiht dem sound einen identischen 80er jahre oi!
touch. und genau so klingen sie auch. die beiden lieder sind in
englisch gesungen (französisch wär zwar besser, aber
so versteh ich wenigstens mehr). die lieder machen definitiv lust
auf mehr.
zum layout: guilty records hat einmal mehr gezeigt, dass sie nicht
nur einen guten musik geschmack haben, sondern auch wissen wie
man eine hülle speziell gestaltet. das ganze kommt übrigens
mit textblatt. diese 7" muss man sein eigen nennen! das teil
ist zudem noch auf 500 limitiert. zugreiffen! beide lieder sind
super, aber 'the way i feel' ist der absolute renner! da gibt's
nix dran auszusetzten! 5 punkte |

the
veros-'the way i feel' 7" die
neue ep der drei franzosen liegt momentan non stop auf dem platten
teller. wir wurden durch den 'oi! en france vol. 1' video das
erste mal so richtig aufmerksam auf die band.
die bassistin (vero) kannte ich vom sehen her von dem konzert
in paris (u.a. mit warrior kids) und vom skingirl buch 'skinhead
girls! the passion and the pride' (flash ware editions). die
7" kam schon mal als demo cd raus, mit integriertem videoclip.
das teil ist leider bereitgs vergriffen.
gerade eben veröffentlichte die band eine demo mcd namens
'hum! the avenant' auf guilty records. die
dreier gruppe überzeugt mit identischem 80er jahre oi!
den man durchaus mit englischen bands aus den achzigern gleich
setzen kann.

| Nach
der CD rom nun endlich was auf vinyl von der dreiköpfiger
band. Auf 500 stück limitierten scharzen scheiben präsentieren
sie uns zwei in englisch gesungene lieder. "the way I feel"
ist wohl das lieblingslied der band un "got to get away"
, welche vom still in die wirklich alte englische Oi! Schiene
gehen, da merkt man, das hier teilweise alteKnochen dahinter stecken.
Wenn man die Lieder hört ohne zu wissen, das es eine neue
Band ist erkennt man keinen Unterschied zu früher. Mir hätte
es zwar besser gefallen, wenn sie in Landessprache gesungen hätten,
aber das ist nur meine Meinung, aber das macht auch nicht so viel,
da das englische hier nicht schlimm klingt. Der Tony von "Guilty
Rec." hat sich wie immer sehr viel Mühe gegeben und
so kommt mal eine Scheibe seines Labels mit Beiblatt, wo die layouttechnischen
Finessen noch deutlicher werden.Gute Scheibe, die man ruhig mitnehmen
kann. |

The
Veros "The Way I Feel" Single. Guilty Recs. After a very long
time waiting, at least we can see released the debut 7" of the
French trio, amongst them we find the ex-Snix Boni. This vinyl
had to be out on Droogies but we find it now out thanks to Guilty
Records, and for us it´s better because the records out on Guilty
are always high quality, we can enjoy a colour sleeve with a
great design made by Tony Vauriens, and insert with a lot of
pics.The first thing we may comment is that band doesn´t sound
like the typical French bands, and they sing in English; they
play a melodic British streetpunk-Oi! with a very 70´s style
reminding of bands such as Eddie & the Hot Rods or the early
Skrew.On the A side, "The Way I Feel", and on the B side "Got
to Get Away", both are good half-time songs, melodic, singalong
and very well played. A great debut.

| The
Veros: The Way I Feel (CD-R / single) Return To Top In the sorted
world of Shite N Onions, nothing could fall further from the genre
of Irish folk than French Oi! which is exactly what the Veros
are. So, this review is primarily of interest to the skinhead/punk
contingent among the readership, and if there are none, then this
review is primarily for me, because, well, the Veros are too good
to be overlooked. For those of you familiar with French Oi!, the
band Snix is considered a classic of the genre, and along with
such earlier bands as Tolbiac’s Toads, the Warrior Kids, Brutal
Combat and others, defined the movement in France and often times
bettered their English counterparts. Boni, the drummer for Snix,
is the lead singer and guitarist for the Veros. With this release,
he, along with bass player Vero and drummer Denis, show why the
Veros are a new classic - they haven’t forgotten their roots.
The Veros are a three-piece and their sound is primarily inspired
from their French forefathers and from such English acts as Cock
Sparrer, the Last Resort, 4-Skins, early Skrewdriver, Stiff Little
Fingers and the like, yet all the while retaining that esoteric
French sound. Mid-tempo, with clean guitars and catchy choruses
throughout. All sung in flawless English (except for the covers
of French Oi!) This interactive CD-R includes two Veros originals,
“The Way I Feel” and “Got To Get Away” both of which are top-notch,
and “The Way I Feel” already has my vote for Oi! tune of the year.
The interactive portion includes a web page with band pictures
and profiles, as well as an MP3 section where the band cover the
4-Skins, the Last Resort, Skrewdriver and several others (7 total.)
Also included are 4 videos, featuring “The Way I Feel” and Cock
Sparrer’s “We’re Coming Back.” It’s all very professional and
well done. This release is easily one of the best things I’ve
got in months and deserves to be heard by any and all fans of
Oi!, streetrock, etc. Hopefully, the Veros will be putting out
a full-length (or at least more singles) soon. By paying homage
to the past greats, and being led by one who was involved, The
Veros are the immediate present and future of French Oi! To order

| The
Veros- The Way I Feel (7") This is a new French band that features
Boni from Snix on guitar and vocals. No, they do not sound like
Snix. Boni's voice is much more melodic than the original Snix
vocalist, and this gives the music an entirely different feel.
The guitar work is crisp and catchy, the bass is steady and hard,
and the drums tie it all together. The A- side track, 'The Way
I Feel', is a well- played, mid-tempo rocker that starts rocking
right from the start and keeps your foot tapping the whole way
through. The B-side, 'Got to Get Away', is more up tempo but the
band doesn't change their style just cause their playing faster.
The A-side track is the better of the two, but both are good.
Bottom Line: A good debut of a new band. If you're looking for
Snix though, bust out one of your old records cause these guys
aren't them. |

pochette ! Bon alors on n'a vraiment pas l'impression d'entendre
un groupe français, le son est différent et ils
sont plus proches des vieux groupes oi!/punk anglais. vraiment
deux bons titres , et en plus, en live, c'est aussi bon !! |
